An Introduction & Life Update.
I recently have been inspired by one, Tim Hong (my father-in-law), to begin a blog for which I have now dubbed:The Zimmerman Post. I was going to name it the Zimmerman Post-Gazette but that’s just a mouthful & it’s just a kind of family inside joke & too much information to explain.
I am doing this blog in large part as just a way to put down my thoughts, possibly help think some things through, learn & hopefully encourage anyone who reads it….I think this blog will serve as our family newsletter to a large degree as well.
I’ve never done a blog before but it will be fun, God-willing.
I am going to attempt to continue this blog for a long time, hopefully as something my child or future children can read & learn something from too.(My wife & I are expecting our first child, a boy, due in April.)
Words cannot describe our excitement for this; the only suitable term I can muster is “Were overjoyed or we’re over the moon”.
We’ve felt his little kicks from inside moms tummy & Ruth seems to know when he likes something she eats…that is just so cool to me. It kind of blows my mind how amazing God’s designs are.
We have been so blessed by baby gifts from family, friends & even strangers over the past few months. A random woman at Wal-Mart offered us a baby mattress for free of charge a few months ago. No idea who she was, how she knew we were expecting, I don’t know…God is just so good & faithful. What a blessing.
According to the doctors, Baby Z & Mom are very healthy & on the right track. Praise the Lord!
One fun thing about all this has been praying & thinking of names for our son; Ruth & I have suggested 1000 names to each other. Some suggestions just to be funny….I won’t share any of those names at the risk of offending anyone with those names. We have some names in mind for him but want to wait until he arrives & we can meet him before we name him – cannot wait to share that.
I have always enjoyed the thought of having children of my own one day, I recall being 12 years old thinking of what it would be like to have kids & the value in it. It probably has something to do with my own relationship with my dad & my Papaw.
Ill have to do a post about them & my thoughts on being a father as a subject of a blog post at a later time. Yeah…I’ll revisit my relationship with my dad &Papaw, our dynamics from my point of view & my thoughts on being a father then.
But for now, this is just an introduction.
Looking forward to sharing, I leave you with one of my favorite Bible verses &hope you are encouraged.
Isaiah 41: 10
“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10 NKJV
